Grant Ford was responsible for the Irish Art Department at Sotheby’s from 2001-2016. This talk will look at the huge rise of interest in Irish Art from the mid 1990s (The Celtic Tiger) and the dramatic change that took place in the marketplace in 2007. Grant will discuss some of the most iconic Irish works , including provenance, history and associated stories. This lecture will look at incredible paintings by Jack Butler Yeats, William Orpen, John Lavery, Paul Henry, Roderic O’Conor and other leading contemporary artists from Ireland.
